Here are our ponies and their stories

Frequently Used for therapy are:

Beau

Ernie

Ernie

Beau is one of our therapy Shetland ponies. He is amazing with children with such a calm temperament. Even the noisiest and fast movements such as flapping, jumping and shouting doesn't bother him.

Beau came to us after being no longer wanted, he was riddled in mites and lice and even from the moment we met he we knew he was something special, he allowed to clip and medicate him immediately and is so trusting. A true and honest pony.

Ernie

Ernie

Ernie

Ernie is a small Cob who is frequently used for our therapy sessions. He is super chilled and would stand all day to be groomed. If anyone drops the lead rope when walking with him he continues to follow the person who had the lead.

Ernie sadly had a rather unknown past but was in need of feeding up and some TLC. This pony is so trusting and loving and has become a firm favourite with visitors at the yard.

Blue

Ernie

Renegade

Blue is one of our smaller  Miniature Shetlands. He is great for therapy sessions especially with younger children. Blue has attended many of our fundraising events and is a firm favourite due to his size and colour changing coat.

Blue unfortunately has an unknown history however exhibits old habits and signs of being abused. With fast movements towards him Blue can sometimes back away. However, he is a lot more trusting and is such a friendly, happy pony especially around young children.

Renegade

Renegade

Renegade

Renegade is a Miniature Shetland who takes part in our therapy sessions. Renegade loves to receive attention especially from children. Renegade tends to catch the eye of children due to his pretty colours and being very different coloured to the rest of the herd.

Renegade unfortunately had a bad past before coming to us. When rescued he was in poor condition and had to learn to trust people again. This has grown so much that he enjoys human attention and lots of visitors.

Gino

Renegade

Jerry

Gino is one of our smallest and quietest therapy ponies. He is a Miniature Shetland who loves quiet attention. He is great with nervous, shy or small children and brings the confidence out in them. He loves going for short walks with the visitors and is so well behaved.

Gino is Renegades brother and has the same history. He came with Renegade and when they first arrived found comfort in each other. Gino has settled into a big herd and is now happy if Renegade leaves the yard without him.

Jerry

Renegade

Jerry

Jerry is a young Cob that is used for our therapy sessions regularly. Jerry is a very cuddly boy and loves being groomed, children especially enjoy brushing his long and beautiful mane. Jerry is amazing with wheelchair users and will lower his head for them to cuddle him.

Jerry was riddled with worms when he arrived with us and needed medication for his liver. He was under weight and took over a year to gain what he needed. He still loses weight easily during winter but gets extra feeds and is fully fit and healthy now.

WE are still learning but come out occasionally to see you!

Eric

Bailey

Bailey

Eric is a young Cob that may come in for a short time to visit you as he is still learning due to his age. He can be a little impatient at times but is so sweet and loving and wants the attention.

Eric is behind neurologically due to only being 6 weeks old when he arrived. The malnutrition means that even though when he was 3 years old, he acted like a 9 month old foal. Blood test have now shown that he has fully recovered he just takes longer to process things than our other ponies.

Bailey

Bailey

Bailey

Bailey is a beautiful young Cob that is still learning. He loves attention but can become worried he does come in for some visits on days where he is calm but you are able to say hello to him over the fence in the field.

Bailey was very thin and malnourished when he came to us and needed a lot of TLC and time. Unfortunately, he had a very nasty sinus infection that took vets over a month to sort at only 6 months old. He is now fully healthy.

Danny

Bailey

Millions

Danny is our youngest Cob who is proving to be very calm around visitors and won't be long until he is suitable for therapy sessions. At the moment due to his age we try to let him spend more time in the paddocks than being a therapy pony.

Danny was a muddy and matted mess when he first arrived with us and needed veterinary sedation to groom and clip him in order to remove all the matted hair which had left him with damaged skin and sores all over. These have now fully healed.

Millions

Millions

Millions

Millions is a very sweet boy but doesn't know his own strength. He is a Welsh Section D. He has only been with us since December 2022 and is learning how to be more gentle. He likes to nudge you with his head for attention and these nudges can be quite strong.

Millions came to us after his owner suddenly passed away, he has severe arthritis in one of his hind legs and therefore can't go on our therapy walks. You can however, say hello to him in the field. He loves attention and having a fuss.

Doris

Millions

Doris

Doris is our only mare and is our eldest pony. She is a Welsh Section A. Doris is pretty much fully retired now due to her age and many health conditions.

Doris was an ex riding school pony and her fate didn't look good. We took her on and she has since happily retired with us. She has asthma (COPD), suffers from laminitis flare ups as well as sarcoids (a skin cancer that ponies tend to outlive). Doris can be seen in the field and can be stroked on the odd occasion that she may come in or over to the fence.
